Jose Bedia is a native of Havana Cuba, and is one of the most important Latin American Artists of his generation. A superb draftsmen and master installation artist, Bedia has created a unique synthesis of the artistic traditions of Africa and the indigenous Americas. His work has been included in the biennials of Venice and São Paolo, and exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; and the Centre George Pompidou, Paris, France. Bedia’s art is included in important collections worldwide, including: the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; and the Tate Gallery, London. He currently lives in Miami.
